Psychological Assessments

Psychologists are trained to administer a variety of psychological tests that can provide invaluable information needed to help in making important life decisions such as "Am I in the right career?"   Questionaires and tests can also be useful before, during and at the end of treatment to guide clinical decisions and to provide concrete information on "how things are going" in therapy.

Psychotherapy/Counselling

Cognitive Behavioural Theory (CBT) and Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT) in addition to mindfullness training, form the cornerstone of Dr. Grenon's theoretical approaches.   People with similar concerns may call for different approaches tailored to their unique needs.  These are determined in collaboration.  Dr. Grenon sees individual adults older teens, and couples.

Dementia Screenings

With age and health problems sometimes comes increasing difficulties managing daily living activities to the point where this can become a concern to one self, family and friends.  Dementia is a a decline in cognitive abilities, the ability to solve problems, use judgment and remember. Some declines in ability are reversible. A screening can provide evidence of decline and point to needed follow up.

Behavioural Assessments

At times parents and other caregivers are stomped to change a behaviour pattern that seems to grow out of nowhere and be resistant to change.  In those cases it can be helpful to have a trained outsider, a "third eye" come in and take a look at the dynamics of it all. Observations, verbal feedback, and recommendations are available.

You can do anything you decide to do. You can act to change and control your life; and the procedure, the process, is its own reward.
